Following last year’s Historical Design Prize, Laffanour | Galerie Downtown returns to PAD London with a selection bringing together some of the most distinctive expressions of twentieth-century and contemporary design.

Among the works presented is Le Corbusier’s LC VII floor lamp, ca. 1960, created for the Assembly Building in Chandigarh, its articulated yellow and black reflectors forming a striking graphic composition. Choi Byung Hoon’s Afterimage 08-314, 2009, contrasts the density of an oval black granite top with four ipé supports, while Takis’ monumental Four-arm Signal, 1967, rising to 3.20 metres, introduces a powerful sculptural verticality.

Alongside works by Pierre Jeanneret and other key figures represented by the gallery, the selection brings together architectural furniture and sculptural works, chosen for the singularity of their design, their provenance and the strength of their presence.
