‘Nagasaki’ chair

Ca. 1950

Black painted metal

Dimensions:

H.28,9xW.21.8xD.21.3 in.

The « Nagasaki » chair is designed as a highly personal furniture in the collection of the designer Matégot. This model distinguishes itself through the assembly of tubular metal and perforated sheet metal worked as fabric (called « Rigitulle »). The perfection of its lines and the lightness in the very sophisticated cutting, folding, and assembly techniques caracterize the elegant appearance of this chair. The seat and the back in perforated metal rest on three tubular legs, thus emphasizing the balance of volumes.
