1919 Birth of José Zanine Caldas, Belmonte, South of Bahia, Brazil

1939 Opening of a workshop, producing architectural scale models in Rio de Janeiro for architects among which Lucio Costa and Oscar Niemeyer

1948 Creation of a modern furniture factory: ‘Moveis Artisticos Z’, Sao Paulo, Brazil

1958 Moving to Brasilia, where he built his first house

1960 Closing of the ‘Moveis Artisticos’ factory

1964-1968 Builds of houses in Joatinga, Brazil

1983 Creation of the Center for the Development of the Applications of Brazilian Woods

1989 Exhibition ‘Zanine, the architect and the forest’ at the Arts Décoratifs Museum, Paris, France

1999 Exhibition at the IVth Architecture Biennial, Sao Paolo, Brazil

2001 Death of Zanine Caldas, Vitoria, Brazil
