‘Bastonio’ Chest of drawers
Mahogany and lacquered wood
Ed. Poltronova

Dimensions: H. 39.8 x L. 44.1 x W. 23.6 in.

The ‘Bastonio’ model was originally designed with white drawers. It was not until 1966 that it appeared in two colours in the Poltronova catalogue. It was then offered in three different types of wood: ash, rosewood or coloured walnut. With these different colours and essences, the furniture appears more in line with the pieces Ettore Sottsass was making at that time.
They are no longer simple pieces of furniture, but pieces that create interactions in the living space. The model was first presented in December 1965 in the magazine Domus.
